Introduction: This excellent custom build has lived most of its life in the dry Southern California desert. It was built by Ron Arant of Olympia, WA and taken South when purchased. We brought it back to the Pacific Northwest in September 2017. EVERYTHING on this truck is custom except the fat rear fenders which are stock.
Body/Paint: There are so many modifications that I might have missed some: the top has been chopped 3 inches in the front, 1.25 inches in the rear, and de-arched. Hood was sectioned 3 inches, custom grille, and front bumper. Cab lengthened 4 inches, bed inserted into rear of cab for better proportions, and it has suicide doors. Bed seams filled, roll pan with custom dual exhaust, smoothed tailgate with interior latches and custom taillights. Fuel filler cap hidden behind tailgate. Lockable retractable bedcover over a rhino-lined bed with mild tub. Sunroof.
The paint is a custom mix from Extreme Automotive in Corona, CA called Crystal Cream with a ton of gold metallic pearl that POPS when the sun hits it. This is not flashy, its classy. Hand-painted pinstriping. *** Not sure why the paint looks matte in some pics, it is glossy! ***
Interior: Custom door panels, seats, console, and dash with “Studebaker” stitched into the leather. Custom carpet from Rolls Royce. Grant rosewood steering wheel, gauges by Dakota Digital. Power windows. Air conditioning by Vintage Air.
Under the hood: Built 350 Chevrolet crate engine bored .60 over, RV cam, gear drive, B & M low profile supercharger, Edelbrock 750 4 bbl, 700R4 trans, 3.73 gears. Aluminum radiator with electric fan, chrome alternator and air conditioning compressor, chrome radiator hose. Billet pulleys and stainless tubing. K & N intake with stainless K & N cover. Stainless covers over fender wells and gap between radiator and grill.
Suspension: Front coilovers, rear springs with air bags.
Glass: custom glass, Specialties Power Windows.
Exhaust: Ceramic coated headers with electronic cut-outs ending in 3 inch pipes out through the rear. This lets you go from a rumble to a roar!
Brakes: Disc front brakes, drum rears, master cylinder booster mounted on frame.
Wheels/tires: 16” Boyd Vertigo wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich rubber.
Summary: If you want a truck that is unique and one of a kind, you have found it. It has been featured in numerous magazines, won many awards, and is completely unlike any other.
