Description:
ALL-STEEL 1929 Model A Roadster Pickup known as Top Hat in the show circuit, was by designed by Dave Reinhold and built by Brown’s Metal Mods. The custom body work makes this roadster a one of kind. The eye-catching roofline, full fenders, and stretched cab was masterfully crafted by Brown’s Metal Mods. Staying true to “ALL FORD” Top Hat has a fuel injected modular 4.6 SOHC built by PROFormace Powertrain placed between the frame rails. Features include custom intake, valve covers by BBK Performance, custom Speedway fenderwell headers, custom aluminum radiator with electric fan. The engine is mated to a Ford Tremec 5 speed manual. Custom details include body color matched intake manifold, Chromed and polished engine block. This car sounds as good as it looks. The roadster rides on a Brookville Roadster frame that was extended 3 ½” to make room for the custom cab (stretched 6 ½“) and shortened truck bed. The frame is riding on a Magnum axle mounted to a transverse spring with four-bar keeping everything straight up front, and a Ford 9” with triangulated four-bar and coilovers in the rear. The links, coil springs, and shocks have been chromed along with other suspension components. Stopping power is provided by 10” disk brakes powered by a Kugel Komponents master cylinder. Riding on custom American Racing Salt Flat Special wheels gets the power to the pavement and completes this exceptional example of a show quality roadster. The custom dashboard and seats were built by Browns Metal Mods. The Milkweed ultra-leather upholstery is by Dave Martinez of Martinez Custom Upholstery. Other touches like billet gauges, steering column, mirrors, pedals, and levers complete the well-appointed interior. This build started its life as a swap-meet sourced 1929 Model A cowl and through masterful craftsmanship and attention to detail a true work of art was created. Don’t miss out on this one-of-a-kind Roadster.
